NISC Third Floor Conversion

Scope of Work:
Vigil Enterprises, Inc. provided Design Services and Construction Support services to renovate a portion of the building into a high security area. Title II design included adding stairs and an elevator shaft between two floors. Conversion of the space considers specific office, server room, and miscellaneous support spaces in order to accommodate the various personnel and server equipment moves required. Provided BIM 3D model of the proposed stair and elevator design utilizing Autodesk Revit software. Model was utilized to verify stair and elevator design does not conflict with existing building structure and structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, telecommunication and security systems. 3D model also used to develop proposed construction sequence to minimize the time the existing security perimeter is breached for the elevator shaft installation. This project received the LANL “Distinguished Performance Award.”
